- you sell group seats that group leaders manage
- you want to pick your own hosting, page builder, email and community tools

Moving over
Switching from LearnDash
What you can take with you, and how Ultra LMS helps you settle in.
Getting your data out of LearnDash
- Courses, lessons, topics and quizzes are WordPress posts in your own database, so you already hold the data.
- The built-in Import/Export tool (v4.3+) exports course structure and settings, but it targets another LearnDash site; quizzes also export as XML.
- For a non-WordPress platform, export users and enrolments as CSV and progress through reports, ProPanel or the REST API, then rebuild lesson content.
- LearnDash advises having a developer migrate progress and testing it on a staging site first.
- Videos hosted on Vimeo or similar services stay where they are.
Settling into Ultra LMS
- Import learners from a CSV, enrol them in bulk, and keep their details in the built-in CRM.
- Rebuild courses quickly: upload your existing documents as references and the AI course builder drafts an outline and lessons for you to edit.
- Onboarding is hands-on — our team sets up your academy, domain and payments with you.
- Your data stays portable: export the whole academy, CSVs, and any course as a ZIP or Word document.
Questions
LearnDash vs Ultra LMS: FAQ
Common questions about LearnDash, and about moving to Ultra LMS.
Is LearnDash a hosted platform?
No. LearnDash is a WordPress plugin. You need a WordPress site and hosting, and you maintain WordPress, themes and plugins yourself or through a host.
Does LearnDash have AI features?
Yes, with your own OpenAI API key: an AI Course Outline Builder for lesson titles, an AI Quiz Builder, and an experimental Virtual Instructor chatbot for learners. LearnDash 5.0 also added MCP groundwork for external AI tools.
Does LearnDash support SCORM?
Not natively. SCORM and xAPI content are added with third-party add-ons such as Tin Canny or GrassBlade xAPI Companion, and xAPI also needs a Learning Record Store.
Does LearnDash have a mobile app?
Yes. The LearnDash App is a separately sold branded iOS and Android app, published under your own developer accounts, with offline access.
Can LearnDash stop learners downloading or sharing videos?
Only partly. The Integrity add-on blocks hotlinking and copying, and LearnDash recommends Vimeo domain-level privacy for videos. It has no native DRM or watermarking, and LearnDash notes that screen recording can't be stopped.
Can I accept Razorpay or UPI with LearnDash?
LearnDash natively supports Stripe and PayPal. Razorpay or UPI needs WooCommerce, through the LearnDash WooCommerce add-on, and a third-party gateway plugin.
How is Ultra LMS different from LearnDash?
Ultra LMS leads on AI across the whole teaching loop, a built-in CRM and device limits. LearnDash is ahead on SCORM / xAPI, gamification and native mobile app, so weigh those if they matter to you.
Can I move my academy from LearnDash to Ultra LMS?
Yes. Bring your learner list as a CSV (the switching notes above cover what LearnDash lets you export) and import it into Ultra LMS, then rebuild your courses — the AI course builder can draft from your existing documents. Onboarding is hands-on: our team sets up your academy with you.
Who can use Ultra LMS?
Ultra LMS is invitation-only. Tell us what you teach through “Request an invitation”; if it's a fit, our team opens your academy and helps you set it up.
